Cottonwood County is located in southwest Minnesota. It is named after the Cottonwood River.
The seat and largest city is Windom. The main roads through the county are US-71, MN-60 and MN-30.
It borders Redwood, Brown, Watonwan, Martin, Jackson, Nobles and Murray Counties.
